Programme management

The word ‘Programme Management is used, and unfortunately also abused, in many different ways in the market. Programme Management as a concept has a very unclear status and image, and this bothers us. We believe that Programme Management is an actual field that we mean to seriously improve in terms of professionalism. A professional field that revolves around knowledge of resources, methods and techniques. But especially a professional field that focuses on quality control and personal leadership and skills.

ACS approaches Programme Management from the premise of realising added value for the organisation. You may think we are stating the obvious here – and we are, but strangely, many programmes lack just this basic principle. Programmes are always about introducing a new working method. A new working method that better contributes to the realisation of the strategic targets. Those strategic targets are our central concern throughout the process, from the design stage onward. They constitute the standard by which all our activities are measured.

Additionally, we attach great importance to the human perspective within programme management. Successful programme management depends on the motivation and commitment of people. This is why we select our programme managers on those skills in particular. ‘A fool with a tool is still a fool.’ The human perspective, for us, also means: small-scale. You need not be afraid of bringing in the Trojan Horse. We operate in small teams, we are unallied and independent.

ACS naturally stands for proper management. This is why quality control of programmes is self-evident to us. Without independent Quality Assurance, we prefer not to carry out programmes at all. That is the only way for us give you additional assurance with respect to the extent to which your programme is under control.
