Working history before ACS: Started as management consultant at KPMG in 1988. First as consultant in the field of (administrative) organisation and (management) information provision, branched out into management control later. As from the early 1990s also active in the field of Internal / Operational Auditing. Took a short break as Senior Manager Internal Audit at a medium-sized bank in 2000.
Motivation / drive to work at ACS: With the motto of 'the people and the place', ACS, as a relatively small organisation, offers the possibility to choose your own areas of consultancy and to develop yourself, supported and stimulated by professional colleagues, with a passion for content.
My main job here is: 'Create': the translation of strategy into the design of an organisation and the information management, on the basis of, for instance, KAD+; the supervision of the design or transformation of internal audit positions. 'Care': setting up risk management, including the development and supervision of control (risk) self assessments. 'Control': the broad area of internal auditing, with special attention to 'social controls' (including integrity auditing) and the auditing of projects and programmes, in the capacity of trainer, supervisor and executor.
Passion: Cycling, though my own activities in the field really aren't all that remarkable (anymore).
Personal motto: (Confucius) 'Tell me and I will forget, show me and I will remember, have me do it and I will understand.'
