Risk Management

Every organisation worth its salt does something with respect to Risk Management these days. This may apply to your organisation as well. The current crisis proves painfully that absolute certainties do not exist. You, too, probably feel the need to find a better way of coping with uncertainties. And if you haven’t thought of it yourself, a supervisor will probably point it out to you.

A better way of coping with uncertainties, that is the essence of Risk Management. It is the process with which organisations systematically map uncertain events that may influence the realisation of the organisational strategy. The point is to come up with a fitting response. Despite all the good intentions, we often see projects of this kind fail in practice. They become weighed down with bureaucracy and slow down to a crawl. Management and employees fail to see the added value. After a year of futile efforts, Risk Management is abandoned by the wayside. And that is, of course, a waste of time and energy.

ACS acknowledges this problem. Risk Management is never an independent entity; it will have to be an integral part of business operations. We consider it a challenge to limit a risk management system to the risks that actually matter and then to cover these well in the accepted system of planning and control. This can only be effected if every level of line management is convinced of the necessity. This is why we attach great importance to the change-related aspects of the introduction of Risk Management. The skills of the employees that help to implement the risk management system play a very important role in this.

Do you also believe that risk management is more than a technique? We would be happy to help you embed risk management in your organisation. Through support, training, coaching or advice.
